Prayers for Life ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how it's used.

Data We Collect

Location Data

• We ask for approximate location (city/country level) to calculate accurate prayer times via the AlAdhan API.
• This is stored locally on your device using DataStore.
• We never share your location with third parties beyond the AlAdhan API call to fetch prayer times for your city.
• Location is used exclusively for: prayer time calculation, Qibla direction, and weather-based features.

No Account System

• The app does not require an account or registration.
• We do not collect names, emails, phone numbers, or any personally identifiable information.

No Tracking / Analytics

• We do not use analytics SDKs (Firebase, Google Analytics, etc.).
• We do not track your usage, behavior, or screen views.
• We do not serve ads or use ad SDKs.

Network Requests

The app makes the following network requests:

1. AlAdhan API (api.aladhan.com) – to fetch prayer times by city name
2. QuranCloud API (api.alquran.cloud) – to fetch daily ayah and Arabic tafseer
3. Quran.com API (api.quran.com) – to fetch English tafseer

These APIs receive city/country names (AlAdhan) and ayah numbers (Quran). No personal data is sent.

Notifications

• Prayer time reminders and deed reminders are handled locally via Android WorkManager.
• No notification data is transmitted to external servers.

Data Storage

All app data is stored locally on your device:

• Room Database: prayer logs, deed logs, ayah cache, garden progress
• DataStore: location preferences, theme settings
• SharedPreferences: language preference, reminder tracking

No data is uploaded to cloud servers or accessible to us.

Third-Party Services

• AlAdhan API – prayer time calculation (receives city/country)
• QuranCloud API – Quran verse and tafseer data
• Quran.com API – English tafseer data

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party APIs.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally, uninstalling the app removes all stored data.

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Changes are posted on this page.
